It's been awhile, comrades. In the last nine months since I've written on here, a lot has happened. I'll try to keep this short and sweet.
The good news is I got into grad school! I applied to the Forensic Psychology department at Argosy University in the San Francisco Bay area. It's a small national university that has about 13 campuses nationwide. I even went to visit the school and had a tour/meeting back in February, and I really liked the place. The campus was super small, which was fine with me, and everyone seemed friendly enough. I took the GRE once, although my score wasn't anything worthy enough to display on the refrigerator. Fortunately for me, Argosy did not require the test, and an application, a couple of letters of reference, and an awesome personal statement was all I needed to get in. After talking to the head of the department, I was all set to start this coming fall. That being said... I'm not going.
Why you ask? Well, once I started thinking about it, and as cool as Forensic Psychology sounds, I really couldn't see myself working with murderers, rapists, and any other assortment of criminals for the rest of my life. Plus, another opportunity has presented itself. The last few months I've been doing the necessary preparations to move to Korea to be an english teacher for a year. This opportunity is providing me with everything I could want right now in my life:
-New job.
-Move out.
-Travel/live abroad.
I don't have any major responsibilities right now, so I figure now is the time to do this kind of stuff. You're only young once. Grad school can wait another year or two. I plan on writing about my experiences abroad, so stay tuned.
