I've reappeared

Wow, I've really slacked off on this blog. Shame on me!

Well, truthfully speaking, not a whole lot's happened since I last wrote, but I did take the GRE already. In fact, I took it today! I went into it a little nonchalantly. Honestly, I didn't take it too seriously and made the decision when I registered that this was going to be a practice run. Glad I did too, now I know what to expect next time around. I'm looking to retake it within the next few months, that way it'll give me plenty of time to prepare for round 2.

There have also been a slight change of plans. I didn't realize how insanely tedious the process of applying to grad school was, and frankly, I'm going to need more time to prepare and get things together. My goal now is to start in the Spring of 2010 instead of fall '09. That buys me a little more time. Not all schools offer spring entrance though, so i'll also be applying for fall 2010 for some schools. I've got two schools that I'm applying to for sure and about three others that I'm still researching.

On another note, I'm going to be in Washington D.C. during the presidential inauguration on January 20. I'm really excited about this trip. I'm trying really hard to find tickets for the actual inauguration speech, but those are hard to come by. I'm not the most politically active person, but I think I speak for a lot of individuals when I say that this election has made a lot of people speak up and share their voices. It makes me really happy to see so many people, particularly my peers, active during this election. I hope we keep it up. Regardless of what you believe, we all need to become more involved and come together. All I know is that I've definitely seen a change in myself. If you would have asked me 6 months ago, I never would have thought of going to D.C. for this historic event.

But until then, it's back to work, work, work...
